By booking a service with Frith’s Furry Friends, you automatically agree to the below Terms and Conditions:

1. Bookings & Payments

• A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking for all pet sitting services.

• Full payment must be made no later than 7 days prior to the start of the pet sit.

• Failure to complete payment by this time may result in cancellation of the booking.

 

2. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations made within 3 days (72 hours) of the booking start time are non-refundable.

• Cancellations made more than 3 days before the booking may be eligible for a refund minus the deposit.

• Refunds, where applicable, will be issued using the original payment method.

 

3. Pet Information & Profile Form

• A completed pet profile form must be submitted prior to the service commencing.

• The owner is responsible for ensuring all information provided is accurate and up to date.

• I must be informed of any changes to your pet’s diet, lifestyle, routine, health, or behaviour prior to or during the service.

 

4. Dog Walking & Off-Lead Policy

• Dogs will only be walked off lead if they have perfect recall and it is deemed safe to do so.

• If recall is not reliable, dogs will be walked on a lead at all times.

• The final decision regarding on- or off-lead walking rests with me, based on safety, environment, and behaviour.

 

5. Health, Identification & Equipment

• All dogs must be microchipped, and the microchip details must be current and up to date.

• All dogs must wear a secure collar or harness with an ID tag.

• The ID tag must clearly display the owner’s name and phone number.

• Owners are responsible for ensuring collars, harnesses, leads, and muzzles (if required) are safe, suitable, and in good condition.

 

6. Breed Acceptance & Dangerous Dogs Act 1991

• I accept all dog breeds, including those covered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

• Dogs subject to the Dangerous Dogs Act must have:

– A valid Certificate of Exemption

– A current licence

– Proof of valid third-party liability insurance

• All documentation must be provided prior to the service commencing.

• Dogs covered under the Dangerous Dogs Act must comply with all legal requirements, including lead and muzzle requirements, at all times while in my care.

• Failure to provide valid documentation may result in refusal or cancellation of service without refund.

 

7. Welfare, Behaviour & Safety

• I reserve the right to refuse or terminate a service if a pet displays aggressive, dangerous, or unsafe behaviour.

• Any behaviour that poses a risk to the pet, other animals, the public, or myself may result in immediate service termination.

• The owner remains fully responsible for any damage, injury, or loss caused by their pet.

 

8. Emergency Veterinary Care

• In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, I will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner.

• If the owner cannot be reached, I am authorised to seek veterinary treatment as deemed necessary.

• All veterinary fees and associated costs remain the responsibility of the owner.

 

9. Liability

• While every reasonable care is taken, I cannot be held liable for illness, injury, escape, loss, or death of a pet unless caused by proven negligence.

• I am not liable for damage to property caused by a pet during the service.

• The owner agrees to indemnify and hold me harmless against any claims arising from their pet’s behaviour.

 

10. Access, Keys & Home Security

• Owners must provide clear instructions for property access, alarms, and security systems.

• I am not responsible for faults, malfunctions, or security issues not disclosed in advance.

• Lost keys will be reported immediately. The cost of key replacement is covered by my insurance, subject to the terms and conditions of that policy.

11. Utilities & Home Facilities

• The property must have working electricity, hot water, and appropriate heating (where required due to season or weather) for the duration of the pet sit.

• The owner must provide clear instructions in advance on how to operate heating, hot water, and any relevant electrical systems (such as thermostats, boilers, or timers).

• The owner remains responsible for ensuring utilities remain connected and for all associated costs during the booking period.

 

12. Weather & Environmental Conditions

• Dog walks may be adjusted, shortened, or cancelled due to extreme weather conditions to ensure safety and welfare.

• No refunds will be issued for weather-related adjustments made in the pet’s best interest.

 

13. Photos & Updates

• I may take photos or videos of pets for owner updates.

• Unless otherwise stated in writing, the owner gives permission for photos to be used for marketing or social media purposes.

 

14. Force Majeure & Service Interruptions

• I shall not be held liable for failure to perform services due to severe weather conditions or emergency road closures caused by accidents that make travel unsafe or impossible.

• If I am unable to provide the service due to illness or a personal emergency, the client will receive a full refund for any services not provided.
